These delicate Solar Circle earrings feature two suspended 14k gold circles: a smaller beaded one sits within a larger hoop, with three graduated beads dangling below. Crafted by hand by Tess Young, these earrings are modeled on a unique piece of jewelry made in the 1970s by JB Blunk. The original – a single gold earring – was a Valentines Day gift for the artist’s wife, Christine Nielson.

Blunk began making jewelry in 1954 at Palos Verdes College in Los Angeles where he taught ceramics – he continued to make unique pieces throughout his life from his studio in Inverness, California.
