This unique pair of earrings is a collaboration with the New York-based ceramic artist, Simone Bodmer-Turner. JB Blunk made the original pair in the 1970s as a Valentine's Day gift for his wife, Christine Nielson. Bodmer-Turner reinterpreted the original forms of the beads using her chosen medium of clay. The result is a ceramic bead hand-carved by Bodmer-Turner that combines a feeling of her distinct, biomorphic sculptural style with Blunk's organic, hand-hewn approach. The earrings are fitted with fine, 18k recycled goldwork by Tess Young that reproduces Blunk's exactly. The bead in-carved from white stoneware and finished in the signature slightly crackled, matte cream glaze that coats Bodmer-Turner's design line of vessels.
